When should my child first visit the dentist?
It’s reccomended by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry that within six months after the eruption of the first tooth and no later than 12 months of age. The right information is very important for caring parents to prevent future problems.

Untreated decay can result in chronic pain and early tooth loss. Primary teeth should be retained until their permanent successor teeth emerge. Decayed teeth should be repaired as son as possible so that fillings may be kept small and as much natural tooth structure as possible conserved.

A dental sealant is a material that is put on the chewing surfaces of back teeth to prevent cavities.
Are dental sealants just for kids?
The potential to develop pit and fissure decay begins early in life, so children and teenagers are obvious candidates. But some adults at high risk of decay can benefit from sealants as well.
